Review of “Among Friends” – Kent Martin, Boston Common
No comments · Posted by admin in Uncategorized
I’ve just recently had the pleasure of listening to a new CD entitled “Among Friends” recorded by “The Seventh Wave” quartet from Nova Scotia. The quartet has a warm, sweet sound. These men are wonderful individuals, and their love for the music and each other is obvious when watching them.
Please let me introduce them to you:
The lead, Perry Jackson has a wonderful warm voice and doesn’t hesitate to take the melody note when it in the tenor range, something few other lead singers can do.
The tenor, Steve Jackson, Perry’s son, is one of the nicest and most loving young men I’ve ever met. He also sings a beautiful sweet tenor.
The Bass, Kevin Wentzell, also a fine young man who in my opinion is the most dramatically improved voice in the group. He’s worked hard, and it’s obvious in his fine singing.
The baritone, Paul Grimm, is the musician in the group, and inserts the silky smooth notes into the mix without being obvious unless it’s called for.
I’m proud to call all these men and their families my friends, and would recommend their music to everyone.
Cordially, Kent Martin, (Tenor, Boston Common, 1980 International Champions)
